Humans aren't born fragile...so why are we all sick?

Breathing techniques, nervous system regulation, awareness training….

isn’t it all unnecessary B.S?

Being alive isn’t that complicated, can't you just, like...live?

I actually agree.

People aren't born so fragile and inadequate that they need the wellness community to teach them how their bodies work.

It is all pretty ridiculous.

But not as ridiculous than how we spend our lives in modern society.

We sit in boxes, staring at boxes, distracting ourselves with tinier boxes, which all distract us from our own basic human functions.

And research is showing it.

Take spontaneous panic attacks—the perception is that they occur completely out-of-the-blue.

However, researchers have found that major shifts in breathing and heart rate actually begin up to 47 minutes before the panic attack appears, indicating an inability to notice our own internal warning signals and make pro-active preventative changes.

But it’s not just panic disorder.

When researchers tracked what happens to our physiology when we receive a text message, they found significant increases in respiration rate, heart rate, sympathetic (aka fight/flight) nervous system activity and shoulder and thumb tension.

Importantly, most of these subjects were completely unaware of these physiological changes.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:

Your instincts don’t work in the modern world.

They don’t work with:

  • cool ranch doritos

  • access to phones while driving

  • having 2000 “friends"

  • access to porn 24/7

  • instant notifications of global tragedies

And it is obvious--anxiety, depression, heart disease, cancer are all UP.

Something has to intervene—the answer is your awareness.
